Gamma - Corona Insulators, is a company that manufactures and commercializes insulators and protection equipment to Utilities, OEM's and to distributors in the electrical sector.

We started servicing the different countries in the American continent more than 40 years ago. Our main markets are Colombia, United States, Venezuela and Mexico. We also service the rest of South America, Europe and Asia. In 2001, we began manufacturing for Lapp Insulators LLC, under their own brand, the distribution insulators they sell in the United States.

We are part of the Corona group, a multinational company founded at the end of the 19th century, which to date employs more than 9,700 people.

Historic facts

1.963 - The Company begins its activities on January 1st, 1963 as part of Organización Corona, the Colombian entrepreneurial group that had by then a tradition of more than 70 years in handling industrial ceramics.

1.972 - Exports of products to Venezuela began.

1.976 - Exports are expanded to Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Central America.

1.989 - Inspired by the Integrated Quality principles and based on the goal of transforming the organizational culture, a new thinking process and continuous improvement called Alborada 2000 was implemented

1.990 - The implementation of the Predictive Control of Processes (C.P.P) began with paste preparation, turning the Company into a world class pioneer in this field.

1.994 - The first Manufacturing Cells were implemented and exports to Canada began.

1.995 - Exports to the U.S. began as well.

1.997 - The ISO 9002 Quality Standard (Quality Assurance) and the Ascort Award 1997 (Human Resources Management) were obtained. The first export to the Asian market place was made.

1.999 - The integrated information system BPCS with platform AS/400 is implemented. The first export to Argentina was made. The Company began with transmission. Liquid Natural Gas was changed in the burning equipment, drying process and boiler

2.000- The environment Administration System Certification (ISO 14001) was obtained.

2.001 - The BASC certifications has obtained and the Ministry of Economic Development granted Gamma the Colombian Quality Award, version 2000, in the category of “Large Manufacturing Company”.

2.002 - The Quality Management System ISO 9001 was implemented.

2.004 - OHSAS 18001 certified.

2.006 - Exports to Paraguay begin.The first two Sigma Six projects are carried out successfully. The new corporate image is implemented.

2.007 - Exports to Taiwán begin. The ONLY 25-year warranty of ceramic insulators worldwide is launched.

2.008 - Initial sales were made to Iran, China, Chile and Brazil. POLYMER insulators manufacturing began. We were chosen as the best Siemens suppliers.

2.009 - The business of commercialization of distribution insulators to Lapp Insulators LLC is acquired, and the direct sale to markets in Canada and the US is initiated.
